Before I go researching this myself, has anyone done some extensive research to see the average amount of $$$ spent in any given weekend, broken down by months?

I think that is where a lot of you guys are having problems -- you see "How to Deal" as #3 on moviefone, but unless you know what amount of money that is coming out of, its kind of worthless. #3 on a pot of $100 million could be around $40 million... #3 on a pot of $50 million could be around $20 million -- big difference.

You still have to predict what movie gets what amount of money, don't you?

ther is alot of variance for july 2002 and 2003. but a rough scale would be between 120-135 million for the top ten movies of july02@03

the problem with that moviefone ranking was that How To Deal started to climb the list pretty early in the week, while Johny English straggled behind up through the entire weekend. But it ended up making more money! Go figure.

The reason her last movie did well was becasue Mandy Moore was the flavor of the month on MTV at the time. Her popularity obviously is waning. Maybe she has a new video out that sucks, I don't know.
